Back off! Advice for Women Who Disrespect Relationships
Relationships aren’t what they used to be. Though we wish for marriages that last 50+ years, desire a faithful partner, and someone who will stick it out through thick and thin, that’s hard to attain, especially when others disrespect our relationship. And we all allow it. We don’t say a word when a woman crosses the line from playful banter to utter disrespect because we don’t want to seem jealous, crazy, or too sensitive.
Well, I have something to say to the women who interfere in relationships. You know, those that say disrespectful comments or act all shady around your man. Take notes, and back off, honey!
The little texts.
The sexual innuendo behind an emoji can cause a world of hurt. Be mindful of the context and your tone, especially if it’s overly cutesy, even when speaking with your closest friends. It might be harmless in your eyes, but the person on the receiving end might take it as something else. And his girl won’t have it.
Stop being a hoe.
It’s simple; if you know someone’s in a relationship, why flirt or hit on them? There are over 7 billion – let me repeat, 7 BILLION! – people in the world. Surely you can hit on a man who isn’t taken. All this does is cause conflict and makes you look like a shady hoe. If they’re the ones hitting on you, be the bigger person and put them in their place.
Know and respect boundaries.
When in doubt, don’t do it. Put yourself in the gals position. Would you like it if your partner was sweeting up another woman, or if he was on the receiving end of a wink over text, a flirtatious comment on Facebook, or a playful action in person? Being nice is one thing, but you need to know and respect boundaries. Calling someone handsome or beautiful isn’t too bad, but following a compliment with ongoing flirtatious banter is going too far. That’s where you need to chill.
