In animal packs, including humans, males compete to assert their dominance, jockingly we call these “cock fights”, and the winner “has the biggest cock”. The women tend to gravitate toward’s the leaders of any male group, aka, that’s the one they want to fuck. The position of a man is taken as a proxy of his value as a human being, or a man. The result is that the closest a man is to the highest position the more women are interested on him, and the farther he is to the top, the more of a loser he is, the more women are not just less interested, but repulsed by the idea of having anything to do with him.

Males belong to many social structures at the same time, and have a different role and occupy a different pecking order in each one. The result of all these interactions is a set of behaviors and learned traits, and this is where the manosphere weights in:

The more leadership, dominant, charismatic, confident behaviors a man exhibits the more Alpha he “is” regardless of his actual pecking order in any male grouping (even though these are acquired through male groupings). The more follower, submissive, helper, supporter, non-self-reliant behaviors a man exhibits the more of a Beta he is, and the more isolated, loser, lack of motivation, hater, powerless behaviors a man exhibits is the more Omega he is.

And women respond to each status in a very predictable way. Let’s generalize and simplify:

The girlfriend of an Alpha is proud and brags about him to her girlfriends, or complain about him in a way that show’s the strong emotions he makes her feel. If the Alpha abuses of his power, cheats, the girl rationalizes it. At the end of the day Alpha cant do no wrong. When the Alpha does little (or big) good things, these things are seen as superhuman. If the Alpha initiates sexual contact is met by an enthusiastic Yes, but more often than not is the woman the one initiating sexual contact with him. The Alpha is desired by many women simultaneously so there’s a sense of instability / sexual tension / intrasexual competition for the woman, who needs constant reassurance that she’s good enough for him, and she wants to please him.

The girlfriend of a Beta is mildly satisfied but is prone to wonder if she could have done better and gotten an Alpha instead. Sometimes she will push / nag the Beta to become more Alpha. If the Beta responds to the nagging with more Beta behavior, her dissatisfaction grows. She complains about the Beta with her girlfriends and usually belittles him in public. Most of what the Beta does, is wrong. When Beta does little or big good things they are received as “payment” or overcompensation for his relationship status, even though this payment doesnt give him any guarantee that he’ll be appreciated back. If Beta initiates sexual contact this is usually met with disdain, has to be planned forward, it’s not enthusiastic, spontaneous nor explosive, and he has to work upwards to switch this inert state into arousal. The Beta desires many women but its rare that anyone desires him back, so he’s looking for “the one” that will correspond his affection. He’ll become quite obsessed about this “one”, which is the source for all the sexual tension, instability in his relationships, as he’s always close to lose the interest of his woman. He would bend the stars to please a woman, but the more he tries, the less sexual interest and romantic appreciation he gets back.

Omegas dont have girlfriends. Actually women say “Omega” as an insult, as in”you’re just a loser who cant get laid, dont have a job, dont have motivation, etc”. Omega’s sin is not just that they failed at being a (top) man, but that they didnt even try, and this body of failure is seen as a proxy of their lack of value as human being. Omegas masturbate to their fantasies where Alphas dont exist, Betas choke in a fire, and therefore they are the sole Alphas of the world and women desire them. There’s no social support for Omegas since virtually everyone is either repulsed or scared by them, so lots of Omegas commit suicide. In a funny twist, because Omegas are not engaged with the world and have tons of time to dedicate to things, sometimes an Omega actually makes it big and become legendary, then you have a weird mixture of hate for the world and delusions of grandeur and social ineptitude, mixed with world recognition and social success. Look up and you’ll see some of them.

Lastly, humans are complex and can have several coexisting models. A man can tend towards Alpha with one group and to Omega in other, depending on how his personality got formed. A man can have situational personalities, because personalities are puzzles that get triggered by different contexts, and learned situations, and then this mix is guided by what he is prone to be biologically. As a side note, every human being would benefit from taking control of this mess and deciding how and who they want to be. Anyway.
