Drop the Weight

A difficulty that many people attempt is to purge poisonous friendships. There are many reasons for this. Sometimes people convince themselves that a person might redeem themselves. This is always a lie.
You never know when you need someone they rationalize. This is bullshit.
The most beautiful things in life are streamlined. They have been tested in the wind-tunnels of life experience and lack drag.
The same should apply to your life. Dead weight does not do the heart good. Drop it.
Offer someone a second chance. Never a third.
This may sound harsh to many of you dear readers, but this is the truth. Nothing holds one back from attaining one’s true potential than a friend that is messing with the flow. We all have been there: the one friend who constantly finds themselves needing you to bail them out.
The friend that ruins your chances at something with their own follies. And yet you constantly find excuses for them. They do not even do the work, you do the excuse rationalizing yourself. Mother Theresa. You believe that your long time friendship with this person is enough. That the history you share supersedes their glaring character disfigurements.
Keep watching your dreams be engulfed by the flames of mediocrity. Hindenburg.
Purge them from your life.
They are not a mole on the otherwise blemish free face of your life. They are a cancerous sore.
It is hard to free yourself of the shackles of such a friend. I myself needed copious amounts of WD-40. Never regretted it.
My advice may taste acrid to your otherwise benevolent pallet, but I am a connoisseur of such matters.
The forces working against you on your flight towards success are bountiful and bullish. Success comes with being aerodynamic. Before you can help others you must help yourself.
You are not helping anyone by allowing the deviants in your life tether you to a pedestrian existance.
Success comes to those that stare at life and make the difficult decisions. Everyone else enjoy your six pack and potato chip Mondays.
